This banjo bridge is a standard 5/8s size and is also made from the curly maple Tim harvested from an old turn of the cenrtury Milton piano. Although it was a close race, the winner was his Mystery/Ebony bridge. Not only does David continue to provide an outstanding product at a good value, his customer service and response times are exceptional. It proved a way to "fine adjust" the amount of sound that was transfered from the strings to the banjo head. Since I had just interviewed John Bullard and he talked about the Purcell bridges that he likes, so I thought I would give that one a try. Until the day comes when I can welcome a high end mahogany to my collection, this bridge experiment seemed like a pretty good solution. I put a Kateyz Prowler on my Gibson Scruggs and got better sound than the original equipment - just a generic Gibson lightweight that actually had a slant toward the frets.
